Public Notice of Intent to apply for the ISBE 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant

In accordance with the application requirements for the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant, The Puerto Rican Cultural Center is hereby providing public notice of its intent to apply for 21st CCLC funding for the FY2026 grant cycle.

The purpose of the 21st CCLC program is to support the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program also seeks to offer families of participating students literacy and related educational development opportunities.

The proposed 21st CCLC project will serve students attending Roberto Clemente Community Academy, Sabin Dual Language Magnet School and Bernhard Moos Elementary School, pending final approval of partnerships.

If awarded, the proposed project will offer after-school and summer programming designed to:
• Improve student academic performance and engagement,
• Support social-emotional learning,
• Promote family involvement, and
• Strengthen community partnerships.
