On Friday, March 6, 2026, the Women’s Leadership team of The Puerto Rican Cultural Center gathered at the WEPA Mercado Del Pueblo in an inspiring afternoon to recognize and celebrate women who are redefining what leadership, ambition, and impact look like.
The following “liderezas” (leaders) shared their journey:
- Carla Acevedo Yates, an international curator with over fifteen years of experience working across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
- Marta Cerda, Chief Executive Director of ASI (formerly Active Senior Independence).
- Veronica Ocasio, Director of Education and Programming at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture. She is also a member of the Board of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center.
Through powerful dialogue, our panelists revealed how they have navigated underrepresentation and challenged expectations on their own terms. Their stories inspired courage and sparked ambition in those present. Thank you to all our guest participants. Together we are stronger.
