Bay Area Boricuas and Allies Celebrate July 4th with “No Ice! No Kings! No Colonies!”

by Edith Scripps

On July 4, an energetic contingent of Puerto Rican activists, artists, musicians, and allies converged in the East Bay community of El Cerrito to call for an end to colonies and imperialism at the annual One World community festival.

Chanting “No Ice! No Kings! No Colonies!” A community of activists with ties going back 30 years to the freeing of the 11 Puerto Rican POWs brought their commitment to freeing Puerto Rico to the Bay Area.
