A Memorial Service will be held for Irma Cabrera Romero on Monday, January 14, from 10:30am to 7 pm at her church home, Adalberto United Methodist Church, 2716 W Division Ave. A devoted grandmother, mother and wife, Irma’s tireless dedication to and amazing effectiveness in the causes of unity and justice for her Latino community, especially the cause of the Puerto Rican political prisoners and the struggle of the 12 million undocumented, as well as her loving and wise vocation as a teacher and counselor to the next generation, make her part of all of our families. Irma was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center serving in the position for almost 10 years.
Friends, admirers, and comrades in the struggle are invited to honor her life and share in the faith and fellowship her courage and love have created. The closing ceremony will be held at 7:00pm and a watch night will continue to the morning when she will be transferred to the Rago funeral home at 624 N Western Ave, where there will be a final wake from 1pm to 8 pm. Be there for her – she was always there for you…
