Venezuelan diplomat Alex Saab is still imprisoned in the gulags of the United States.
His health has gotten worse. His life is in danger. We urge people to join the campaign for his immediate release.
Because we are Puerto Ricans who love justice and freedom, we have decided to demand the government of the United States to immediately release Alex Saab.
Two years and eight months ago, the U.S. government kidnaped Alex Saab in crass violation of human rights and international law. The kidnaping and imprisonment of Saab are crimes against humanity, as are refusing to allow his family – his wife, 12 year old, and newborn baby – access and visits.
Given that the U.S. is the one doing the kidnaping and violation of these fundamental human rights, we have every obligation to protest and keep up the struggle for medical attention and for his release.
Alex Saab’s health is in danger. His cancer has progressed, and he urgently needs medical attention. Alex and his family continue to be victims of a government that commits crimes against humanity, which Amnesty International calls a “legal” crime.
We urge all people who love justice and freedom to join this campaign. We also ask people to support and struggle for Alex Saab’s immediate release. Let’s do everything we can so Alex Saab can be released as soon as possible, so he can recover his health and enjoy life with his wife and children.
