Welcome to Paseo: Chucherias Tropical Creations! Another Puerto Rican Woman Owned Business Opened!

Sachayra Cintrón moved to Chicago after Hurricane Maria and began to sell her Chuchería’s Tropical Creations at ¡WEPA! Mercado del Pueblo. This was shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic struck and shut down most businesses. Through her participation in The PRCC Business Incubator, Sachayra is now the owner of the officially registered business — Chucherías Tropical Creations, LLC, and is taking her business to the next level! Sachayra’s Puerto Rican pastries, which include quesitos, pastelillos de guayaba, mallorca sandwiches and more., have become popular in our community and are attracting new customers from all around Chicago. The Business Initiatives Department saw her potential and advised her to open her own coffee shop. Eventually, Sachayra found a beautiful location on Division St. and conducted renovations to brighten up the space and make it her own. Our incubator helped her obtain a retail food establishment license, and shortly thereafter Sachayra invited the community to her grand opening on September 3rd.

The PRCC Business Initiatives Dept. continues to support Sachayra as she grows her social media, adds new menu items, and continues to grow her customer base. Hours of operation: Wednesday-Thursday 11am-6pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-7pm. You can find more information and ways to support Sachayra on Instagram: @chucheriastropicalcreations.
